Online Adoption Application › Trixie was rescued from a dangerous situation where at least 16 dogs were being neglected outside without food, water, or shelter in 100°+ temperatures. She arrived at our house riddled with worms and desperate for love and safety. But, she has adapted amazingly well. She is healthy and worm free now and working on putting on weight.   Trixie is a delightful little companion. She still has cute puppy energy and loves to play fetch. But, she's old enough to also love a snuggle on the couch. Long walks where she can sniff all of the things are on her list of favorites.   Her potty training is coming along quickly. She is a very intelligent dog and very much wants to please. Her biggest hurdle right now is confidence.   She does not do well being left alone and really wants to be with her person. She would thrive in a home where her person can be with her most of the day. She will bark when left.   Her anxiety is still running fairly high, but is improving every day. We have found that giving her lots of chewing opportunities has greatly eased her anxiety.   She is learning to share attention and not push her way in. But, she is not aggressive with other dogs and does not seem bothered by quiet, respectful children.    We lovingly joke that Trixie is made with spare parts. But, the vet gave her a thorough check and said that her bulldog-shaped legs are just cosmetic and will not require corrective surgery or anything. She runs, jumps, and does stairs just fine for her size.    This little girl bonds really fast and will love you hard.
