My story

Burt is a distinguished 12-year-old gentleman with a heart full of curiosity and a personality that’s equal parts relaxed and playful. He always likes to be within your sight and will sometimes hop up on the couch to snuggle right next to you. He also has a silly nightly tradition—every time his foster mom heads to bed, he dashes ahead and leaps onto the bed, ready to claim his spot. Burt is the perfect roommate if you’re looking for a calm, independent companion who still enjoys the occasional snuggle and quality time. He loves to lounge in cozy spots where he can keep an eye on things; he enjoys being nearby, even if he's not always in your lap. That said, he absolutely has his affectionate moments and will happily follow you around, encouraging gentle pets with quiet charm. If he’s not in the mood, he’ll politely let you know with a gentle paw tap or a graceful exit. Despite his age, Burt still has a playful streak—he loves batting around toys, exploring cabinets, and climbing to high places to supervise his surroundings. Burt does have hyperthyroidism, which means he takes medicine twice a day. Luckily, he’s very food motivated and easily takes his medicine in wet food or pill pocket treats.
