MAMA MAYBELLE*

My story

This sweet Mama was brought into the shelter with some underaged kittens, found accidentally after moving some things around. At first, Mama Maybelle let us know she would have preferred to raise her kittens in solitude. But, thanks to our cat-savvy foster parents, Maybelle has changed her perspective on the situation, feeling grateful that she can spend the rest of her life with a family (and no more kittens). She is loud and proud and happy to let you know how she is feeling. Maybelle may be a good candidate for indoor-outdoor after a period of acclimation in her next home, although may prefer to be indoors most of the time. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
