Mallory

My story

Mallory is a 4 year old 14 pound cute mixed breed girl with some Jack Russell, Rat Terrier, and a little Basenji. She is a 100% cute, spotted, sweetheart. Mallory is fostered in Portland, Oregon. She is a low energy gal. She prefers to potty in her own yard, and does not seem to care if she leaves her nest at all, so long as she has her beloved human(s), her world is complete. Easy puppers. She is sweet, affectionate, and loves to be with her person. She is house trained and walks well on leash. She does not have any separation anxiety. Though she walks well on leash, she does require that you get her attention and offer treats (counterconditioning) to ignore all passers by. Otherwise, she may bark and lunge at stranger dogs and sometimes men. She never been aggressive, and at 14 pounds is hardlly menacing. She will do best in a quieter area, the country, or a in a home with a yard or acreage where she does need to go out an encounter stranger dogs. Mallory has been fostered since April with a woman, and is very comfortable with women. She has also warmed up to an older man, when cajoled with treats. She will also warm up to a gentle patient man who has will let her go at her own pace, and may offers friend making treats. She is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, de-wormed and on flea/tick prevention. Mallory's adoption fee is $350. A great home and must haves for Mallory include: 1. An owned or stable renter home with a fully fenced yard. Because Mallory is currently somewhat reactive on leash, a quieter area or home/yard she does can stay in may be the best. She does not mind not going for walks. 2. Folks not gone long hours. 3. Adopters who treat their dogs as family members and include them in their activities, as much as works for Mallory. 4. Ideally, people who would work with her on her reactivity so that she can enjoy outings, though it is not necessary as she is a happy home body. 5. People who offer good nutrition and vet care to their pets.
