******DOLLY IS LOCATED IN FOSTER AROUND WORCESTER, MA – IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE AROUND FOSTER LOCATION****** Dolly is a gorgeous, blue-eyed husky that is about 10-12 months old and weighs about 47 lbs. FROM HER FOSTER: PROS: -Affectionate, sweet + gives kisses -Submissive with other dogs - Playful, smart + clever - Knows “sit” command - Knows when to settle down and relax, happy chewing toy or resting - Left alone inside no crate, no issues - Not destructive with house items - Would benefit from playful dog companion - Learning to use stairs - Really really sweet with new visitors, licks faces and hands, and not jumpy or scared - A little digging under the fence, quickly redirected - Loves kids - Learns fast, teaching her “lay down” and she is picking up quick - Sleeps in her crate with crate door open, trustworthy roaming free overnight - She is trustworthy and left to roam free home alone (so far!), and that she would really benefit from someone who works from home or stays home CONS: She is learning how to ask to go outside still, she is stubborn. Needs consistency. Mouthy, likes to explore things via mouth, but NOT aggressive, just needs training and shows affection with light biting and teething. DOLLY HISTORY: A good Samaritan saw her roaming the street, looking quite thin and on the obvious hunt for some food and water. It’s very common along the Texas and Mexico border to see dogs roaming, so most people just keep on driving - but it was her lucky day. Dolly hit the jackpot - the right person saw her, because she couldn’t just keep on driving. The lady picked her up and has spent weeks trying to find her owners, but unfortunately, nobody has come forward. This is where she has reached out to us for help with Dolly. This sweet girl has got it all going on. Dolly is amazing all around. She has caught onto crate training quite quickly – At first, she was nervous, as it seems like she may have been a backyard only dog. She would cry in the crate, is still learning that. Dolly loves other dogs and would do better in a house with at least 1 other dog in it. This will allow her to comfort, exercise and companionship when someone isn’t home. She absolutely loves playing with the fosters small and big dogs – she’s playful but gentle with them all. She loves all adults and children. She does not have a mean bone in her body. Dolly would be great if the kids want to play in the backyard or go on adventures. She loves being outside so much that when the foster tries to get her back inside, she thinks she’s playing hide and seek and will go run around the yard. Sunbathing, toys and just being outside with other dogs are her favorite things to do. Dolly is your typical energetic husky – she does need a medium to higher active home that allows for exercise and training. If you’re not home as much or if you do not have another dog, we strongly recommend enrolling her in doggy daycare so she can get plenty of socialization and exercise. She loves being next to her humans. She is definitely a people pleaser and wants to be your shadow. Dolly is happy with just pets for confirmation, but she is also very treat motivated and loves any and all treats you give her. She is very smart and will learn commands easily with consistency and training. Dolly does good on car rides!
