My story

Meet Horatio! He is a gentle sweetheart who’s still finding his footing in this big, wide world. Tender and kind, this timid pup may be a little shy at first, but he warms up with patience, soft words, and treats (he’s very treat motivated!). He knows “sit,” loves treats, and is accepting of soft pets—even coming over on his own in the yard for gentle affection. He looks up with you with the most beautiful, soulful eyes.Horatio walks beautifully on a leash and is non-reactive to other dogs. He checks in with you the entire walk and stays right by your side. He comes easily for leashing and is a calm, quiet companion on walks. He was a very brave boy for his bath and seemed to enjoy the attention and care. This sweet boy just needs someone to show him he’s safe, and he’ll blossom into the loving, loyal friend he’s meant to be.Horatio has met other dogs at the shelter and prefers polite companions. He’s interacted well with smaller pups and enjoys calm interactions.Come down to BARCS and meet Horatio—he just might be the gentle soul your heart has been looking for.
