My story

If you wished upon a star that you might find the perfect pup for your family, meet Twinkle! Twinkle is a 3-year-old labrador retriever mix with a beautiful black tuxedo coat and adorable flopping ears. Weighing in at 49 lbs., she is considered a medium-sized (25 - 50 lbs.) pup.Twinkle came to Dog Star by way of our partner shelter in Louisiana. Her foster mom in Louisiana could not have had more wonderful things to say about Twinkle! Twinkle loves being with her humans, including kiddos, and is fun-loving and playful. She thinks she is a lap dog and absolutely loves human cuddles. Twinkle gets along with other dogs and loves running and playing with her canine friends. She has not yet had a cat, so we do not know how she would feel about a cat sibling. As a medium energy pup, she enjoys a good mix of adventures and cuddles. In short, she is a wonderful all-around family dog!Twinkle is already a star with her crate, and leash training! She also knows sit and loves treats! She is almost housetrained and will need just a little more time for her to master it. Twinkle would love to join a family who will provide her with lots of love and patience as she transitions to her new home. With consistency and structure, she is sure to fit right in and feel right at home!Twinkle is sure to shine bright and bring joy to any family. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability.The adoption fee for Twinkle is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
