My story

Meet Shoelace!This gentle little girl may have a funny name, but her heart is serious about finding a safe, loving home. Shoelace is a 3-year-old, 8-pound longhaired Chihuahua who was found stray, and she’s still figuring out that the world can be kind.Shoelace is shy and prefers the comfort of her cozy little den, but she’s never snappy or aggressive—just a quiet soul in need of patience and love. She’s fantastic with other dogs and seems to take comfort in their presence, so she’d do well with a friendly canine buddy to help show him the ropes.She’s not quite ready to come bouncing out into the spotlight yet, but once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll have a loyal little friend who always knows where home is. If you’ve got a gentle heart and a peaceful home, Shoelace might be the perfect fit.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it.
