My story

The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Star, born 5/29/2025 Great Dane/Mastiff puppy. Star currently weighs 15 pounds, but she will not stay that small for long! She is a butterball of wrinkles. Star was surrendered to the rescue by her owner who has fallen on some hard times. Star is a stunning Blue pup! She is a typical large breed puppy and does not know her size. She plays with his foster siblings, who are small dogs, and she pounces them. She smacks them around with his huge paws. She does not mean to, but she thinks she is a little guy. Star loves to play in the water, whether it be the sprinklers or doggie poo. Star is shy at first, but puppy curiosity wins every time. Star is only 9 weeks old, so she needs a family committed to training to make her a good canine citizen.    Star’s adoption fee is $1000 plus and $400 spay deposit. Star will have age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and is microchipped. The $400 neuter deposit will be returned once you show proof of spay. This must be done BY 8 months of age, unless prior written consent is given by the rescue.   We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day.  Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    August 4, 2025, 12:44 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Star, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
