My story

Meet Gwendolyn – The Sweet, Spirited Energy Machine!   Gwendolyn is an adorable black Lab mix (best guess!) who’s about 5 months old and weighs around 20 pounds. She’s a loving, cuddly, and incredibly playful pup who’s ready to find a forever family that can match her energy and help her grow into her best self. Gwen is sweet, affectionate, and full of personality. She loves other dogs and plays hard — sometimes very hard — so her new dog friends should be able to handle her high-energy play style. She’s great with older children, but she’s too boisterous for toddlers or little ones who are still unsteady on their feet. Like any puppy, Gwen is still learning. She’s about 60% potty trained and working on improving. She’s learning commands like “sit,” but recall is a work in progress — she was doing well, but has recently gotten braver and more independent. She also needs to work on manners, as she’s prone to jumping, chewing shoes and furniture, digging, and finding creative ways to entertain herself if she gets bored.   Important Notes for Her Future Family:   Needs daily, high-energy exercise and plenty of mental stimulation. Will be destructive if her energy isn’t worked out. Has a strong prey drive — not suitable for homes with cats or other small animals. Should be supervised in a yard — she’s been known to dig under fences, push through weak spots, or slip out doors. Loves to eat things she shouldn’t (yes, including poop) — yard cleanup and supervision are a must.     The Perfect Home for Gwendolyn: Gwen needs an active family or person who’s home enough to provide training, structure, and LOTS of playtime. She’d thrive with another high-energy dog to play with and people who will be patient as she learns. In return, you’ll get a smart, sweet, silly companion who will curl up with you after a long day of adventure.   If you’re ready for the joys (and challenges!) of a high-energy puppy and want a loyal friend who will love you unconditionally, Gwendolyn is waiting to meet you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $625.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 12, 2025, 3:12 pm
