Hi, I’m Birdie.I’m still learning how to be brave. The world used to feel really big and loud and scary, and honestly, sometimes it still is. Sudden noises make me jump. New people make me hide. But deep down, I just want to be safe. I want to be loved. I want someone patient and gentle who will give me time to trust. When I am feeling brave, I come find my foster mom. She’s soft and calm and never rushes me. I come to her slowly, like a little whisper, and when she pets me, I purr real quiet, like I’m saying, “I’m trying. I love you.” She says my cuddles mean the most because I chose to give them.I’m also secretly a very playful little guy. My favorite game is chase. I grab my string toy and go zooming through the house until my foster brothers start chasing me. It’s silly, it’s fun, and my foster family says it’s the cutest thing they’ve ever seen. I’d love a big cat sibling in my forever home who wants to play and help me feel brave.I live with a big dog right now. She’s sweet and calm, and I tolerate her just fine, but I’d prefer a cat-only home or one with a dog who is very gentle and respectful of my space.I think I’d do best in a quieter home with older kids or adults who understand that I need time and kindness. But if you let me grow at my own pace, I’ll reward you with a love that is quiet and deep and true.I’m Birdie. I’m a little anxious, a little cautious, but full of hope. And I’m ready to find the person who will help me learn to fly.We only adopt to people in the St. Louis METRO area.
