Madam Dory

My story

Dory is a gentle, senior girl who’s lived through some rough seas—but she hasn’t let that dim her spirit one bit. Recently rescued with a few bite wounds and showing signs of age-related arthritis, Dory is now on the mend and showing everyone what true resilience looks like. She underwent treatment for wounds on her right front leg and shoulder, which were cleaned, flushed, and sutured with care. She’ll need to wear an e-collar or a shirt for a little while if she starts licking or scratching the area, and her activity will need to be limited for the next 10 days while she heals. Suture removal is due in 10 days—then this brave lady can get back to feeling her best! Despite her medical needs, Dory is truly a lovebug. She's calm, gentle, and incredibly tolerant—even while being treated and sedated at the clinic. She already has medications on board to help with pain and inflammation (gabapentin and carprofen), and she's currently on a short course of antibiotics and wound care.
