My story

Thumper A561340 Thumper is a 6yo, 83lbs, brindle and white, male, Presa Canario. Thumper came to the Prince George’s County Animal Shelter on July 30th, 2025. https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/PGEO/A561340. Thumper caught my eye because he’s multiple things that I love - a big boy, a little older, and a handsome brindle with a greying snoot. He’s easy to leash up and pulls me toward the door but clearly needs to use the bathroom as he does many times in succession. Thumper might have had some previous house training and at the age of six, he is likely past his highest energy needs and could be content with a couple of walks with his family every day. Thumper has a sign on his kennel that indicates he has been in playgroup. His playgroup notes indicate that he is: “steerable tolerant,social,plaful,dominant dog, high energy”. Thumper enjoys being outside but also gets hot quickly so we take lots of breaks in the shade. He enjoys pet on his back end especially, grinning at me in appreciation. He has nice looking teeth for a dog of his age and seems to have had someone who cared for him at one point in life.
