My story

Name: RileyDOB: 3/13/2025Breed: BernadoodleSex: Female/SpayedWeight: 30 lbsLocation: Buffalo Hello there! I’m Riley, and I’m on a journey to learn to trust humans. It’s a gradual process, and it will take time before I feel completely comfortable around them. Dogs are my absolute favorites, and I think I’d do best in a home with another playful dog. Having a furry friend would help me gain confidence and learn to trust more easily. Cats are a bit of a mystery to me, so I’m not sure how I feel about them yet. I’ll need a fully fenced yard too, since I’m still learning to trust humans and need some privacy when I need to go potty. Leashes are a bit of a no-go for me right now. I’m trying my best, but it’s going to take some time. In my safe space, I’m most comfortable in my crate with the door open when there are people around. It’s like my little haven. But at night, when the door to the crate is closed, I have a moment where I cry and whine. I think I want to escape and get out. My foster mom usually just tells me it’s time for sleep, and that usually helps me calm down and fall asleep. I usually sleep through the night in my crate, but sometimes I still have accidents because I don’t like leaving my crate when there’s a human around.  A home with small children may be a challenge for me unless they are very respectful of my space and fearfulness of humans. I’m a very sweet and gentle dog, and I’ve never shown aggression even when I’m scared. I’ll need someone with a lot of patience (and preferably another dog) to help me grow into the confident pup I can be and teach me how much fun being a puppy can be.  If you are interested in adopting Riley please apply today at https://www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue if you’re pre approved!! ##2476391##
