My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, August 9th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption fee: $650 Meet the Mario Puppies Born May 31st to Mama Rosalina (a charming Westie-Basset 30ish lb mix), the Mario puppies have been raised in a loving foster home where they’ve grown into healthy, happy, and social little characters. Now 8 weeks old, they’re ready to find forever homes of their own. Currently the pups are fostered in a group of 4 and a group of 3. Like many rescue litters, this crew likely had more than one dad— because despite being siblings, they each have a look and personality all their own. What they share is a love of play, people, and each other. They spend their days tugging toys (sometimes all four on one rope, spinning in circles), snoozing in a puppy pile, and mastering their daily routine. They’re up early around 6:30am to eat and play, then nap hard and repeat. They eat four meals a day and are growing quickly. Potty training is going great—they prefer to go outside but aren’t quite ready to hold it all night. Daisy – The leader of the pack. Daisy is smart, confident, and fair. She was the first to come when called and the first to recognize that the sound of a bag opening means treats are coming. This little girl is a smartie! She’s in charge at mealtimes but never a bully. Just a natural-born boss who plays well and shares everything. She's outgoing and a social butterfly. Peach – The pretty princess. Peach is adventurous, sweet, and social. She's all about making new friends! She loves to explore new places and be the first to greet you in the morning, but she’s also happy to curl up for a cuddle or be carried like a baby. She’s great with kids and full of quiet charm. Yoshi – The clumsy clown. Yoshi is the squishiest, scruffiest pup with extra skin, oversized feet, and a permanently worried-looking brow. He’s comical in both appearance and personality— prone to falling over mid-play or mid-nap. Yoshi loves attention and makes sure you know it. Toadette – The snuggler with strong opinions. Toadette is gentle, loving, and lower energy than her siblings, but she’s no pushover. She’s the first to find a lap to curl up in, but she’ll tell the other pups what's what if the roughhousing gets too rough. She’s sensitive, sweet, and happiest by your side.   Ready to meet your player one? The Mario pups are looking for adopters who can continue their training, love them for who they are, and help them level up into wonderful adult dogs.                  August 10, 2025, 5:16 pm
