My story

So there I was living the good life with a family. One day they brought out the dreaded carrier and I thought to myself, not the vet again! We all got into the car and they put my carrier in the back seat. After a kinda bumpy ride, we stopped and they picked up my carrier and took me out of the car. I smelled kind of farmy - you know like cows and chickens do. I wondered what was this place? They put my carrier down and opened the door. I though to myself I think we are moving to a new place. I remembered hearing them talk about a new place. I was really excited and started sniffing all the smells low to the ground. Then, my human yelled at me and scared me so I took off running a short distance. When I stopped to catch my breath I could not see my family. I could hear the car but where were they? I started to panic a little because the car sound seemed to be getting further away even though I was sitting still. I did not know what to do! After a few more minutes I started hearing barking dogs so I hightailed it up the nearest tree so I could get my bearings. Suddenly I saw another cat. Aha, I thought, this is a cat place. I trotted toward the cat but he was not nice and attacked me. Soon another cat came and chased me. I ran and ran. Finally I saw a small building that looked like a good places to hide - but where was I going to get dinner? Better safe though. I could hunt for something to eat later. Suddenly a lady walked into my building and saw me. Where did you come from, she said. I made nice, rubbing against her legs and purring. She left and came back with some dry food and some water. I felt better. I kept trying to make friends with the cats but they never liked me. The lady felt sorry for me and she told me she was going to try to find me a rescue. I did not know what that meant but I trusted her. She said living on a farm with unfriendly cats and dogs was not for me. I was obviously a house kitty. Well, that is my story. she did find me a rescue and the rescue wants to find me a place to be a house kitty again. I am really affectionate and friendly with people. I am not too keen on dogs and other cats. They make me nervous and sometimes I let them know I don't trust them to be a friend. Can you help me? I would love a house with nice people who will not abandon me. I am a really good boy. I have good manners, am very clean, and will keep your lap warm. I am already neutered and have had my shots. I did not catch any bad diseases from living in the wild, and tolerate flea prevention really well. If you want to adopt me you need to fill out an application, check with your landlord if you rent, let my rescue friend check out your place to make sure it is safe, and pay a small fee to cover some of the costs of getting my vet work done. If you are a senior, or military veteran, or have a disability, that is ok. My rescue will even give you a small discount as thanks for being who you are. I am waiting. Please hurry. Rescues are ok but they are not HOME.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jelly, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
