My story

MEET STITCH!!! Stitch is a sweet, lovable pup who is equal parts playful and cuddly. He's a smart boy with a gentle heart and a big personality. He is looking for a forever home where he can be close to his humans and enjoy the simple joys of life! Stitch is a champion napper and loves his sleep so much, you'll often need to wake him up in the morning. He is not one for long outdoor adventures. He enjoys getting some fresh air, but when he is done, he will let you know he is ready to come back inside by crying at the door. Stitch loves his toys and playing tug-o-war which he usually winds. Although he tears through toys, he is not at all destructive around the house. Expect to see energetic bursts of zoomies followed by well-earned rest.  Stitch is an affectionate companion. He adores belly rubs, butt scratches, and all the attention you are willing to give. He is not clingy, but he does love being near his people. He is treat motivated and gentle. He is incredibly smart and listens well, especially when chicken treats are involved. He takes treats very gently and responds to certain phrases with excitement. Say, "Ready, Freddy," at bedtime and he will race to his bed, knowing a treat is on the way. Stitch is a great dog and is looking for someone who enjoys a mix of play, cuddles, and calm companionship. He will do best in a home without young children (teens only) and other pets, and should be adopted by a strong Pack leader.  Stitch is currently in foster with a Cat and another dog. With very slow proper intros, Stitch has become good with both. Though his resident dog friend is not open to playing with Stitch, even though Stitch does try his best to get him to. We think he does appreciate other animals and could do well with another playmate, perhaps a female puppy. To summarize, itch is a loving and sensitive senior pup who mostly naps and snores but has bursts of energy perfect for regular walks and play time; he loves car rides, his squeaky ball, and tug of war SEEKING a quiet, loving home with person(s) who are experienced with working breeds and/or rescue dogs with anxiety, would like a 'shadow' companion and who will provide good boundaries and continued positive reinforcement training along with belly rubs and yummy treats.
