My story

Hi there, I’m Astrid—a 5.5-month-old Mountain Cur mix with the softest tan and black coat and the kindest heart. I weigh about 34 pounds right now, but I’m still growing into my paws! 🐾I was recently adopted, and my family said I was the perfect dog—but sadly, their resident pup didn’t like to share. The older female dog in the home began resource guarding attention, treats, toys, and space, and they felt it was safest to bring me back. It wasn’t anything I did wrong—in fact, I was amazing with the kids, fully housebroken, gentle, respectful, and a great listener. 💛Mountain Curs like me are known for being loyal, intelligent, and versatile companions. We were originally bred as working dogs and love having a purpose—whether it’s hiking, playing fetch, or just keeping an eye on the yard. I’m no exception! I’ve got a calm, observant nature and a sharp little mind that picks up on things quickly. I’d thrive in a home that offers love, structure, and positive reinforcement.I’m learning to walk beautifully on a leash, ride well in the car, and I get along great with other dogs—I love to play! I also have a mellow, affectionate side and enjoy cuddling up for movie nights just as much as I love little outdoor adventures. I’ve even mastered alerting you when someone pulls into the driveway—just doing my job. 😉I may still be young, but I’m a smart cookie 🍪 and ready to continue growing into the well-balanced companion I’m meant to be.
