My story

Meet Jager, a boy who will make you feel drunk with love and affection! Jager is a super sweet and soft boy who was found as a stray and brought to the shelter by the person who found him. His finder mentioned that Jager is a cuddle bug and very friendly! Since getting to the shelter we definitely echo that statement. Jager is happiest in your arms getting cuddles! Jager can sometimes have some puppy antics where he jumps and nibbles to show all of his love, and could use a patient human to show him the ropes! Jager is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly- you can meet him any day from 10am-6pm! He walks very well on leash with just a little bit of pulling. Out in the play yard he is such a goof, super cuddly and affectionate, and taking pets all over. He solicited attention from me the whole time trying to get in my lap and leaning against my legs. Took pets all over. Sometimes got a little overstimulated and would jump up and nibble on my ear or my hands, but it was all very gentle. Just need some training on expressing excitement. Great on leash. Did NOT want to go back into kennel room. He cowered to the ground every time I tried to pull him forward. Had to sprinkle a trail of hot dog pieces into the room then into his kennel to get him inside. Very submissive for the whole interaction! Per Staff 8/6/25:Kennel Presentation: Jager was on the backside of his kennel wit ha lowered head, soft eyes and low tail wags. He was toe tapping but was too nervous to come to the front. I went to the backside and opened the kennel door. he was super easy to leash at this point and came right out. Leash Skills: Pulls minimally on leash-- scared to walk through doors/barrier but with leash pressure and baby talk went outside Sociability: Jager went into the yard with a low wagging tail and submissively crawled over to me. He was trying to be brave, walking around with a lowered body and head. he really enjoyed eating the grass near the corner of the bench and ended up laying down next to me. he was scared of loud noises and quick movements but remained very timid and comfortable with me. he took treats very gently and even sat for them. Play: no interest Dog Interaction: Did great for his dog meet, very submissive and laid down as the other dog was very social with him. He has a low body and mid level tail wags Return to Kennel: he was too scared to move and needed a dog friend to walk through the kennels including any barrier. he did not want to go back into his kennel and needed to be carried inside Color Level: Exp blue Play group notes 8/4/25: soft and timid but friendly, gentle/dainty, good greetings, won't give corrections ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
