My story

Daquiri is a beautiful, house-trained Husky mix with a fun-loving spirit and just the right amount of independence. She's currently thriving in her foster home, and she does just fine when left alone outside of the kennel and prefers her kennel door open when she goes in it. This girl is all about the outdoors! She loves running around the yard, going for walks, and watching for squirrels and rabbits from the window. A secure fenced yard or an active family that can give her regular exercise if they do not have a fence would be a dream come true for her. Like most Huskies, she likes to run and may take off after wildlife if given the chance, so she’ll need to stay on leash or in a fenced space. Daquiri is great on walks, with just a bit of pulling when something exciting catches her eye. She responds well to her name and to whistling when she’s on a leash or inside. She’s playful in short, happy spurts and loves to chew on bones. She’ll jump up on furniture but listens when asked to get down. Like any curious pup, she may counter-surf if food is left out, a little supervision and training will go a long way! She’s fantastic with kids ,she recently met a group of children (ages 6, 8, and 10) and sat nicely to be petted. While she loves affection, she’s also totally content doing her own thing. When it comes to other animals, Daquiri does best with medium to large dogs. She doesn’t do well with small dogs or cats, so she’ll need a home without little animals. This sweet girl is affectionate, curious, and well-behaved in the home, she doesn’t chew on furniture, doesn’t beg for food, and has just the right balance of energy and chill. She’ll happily greet strangers at the door, bring joy to your daily walks, and be your loyal, low-maintenance companion. If you’re looking for an adventurous, independent dog who’s just as happy lounging at home as she is exploring the outdoors, Daquiri might just be your perfect match!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Daquiri, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
