My story

Lucy is the dog sitting up// She is one of 30 some dogs that were confiscated from a hoarding situation.. At our vet visit we discovered she is not spayed she is approx 3 yrs she has bacterial skin infection that is being treated NOT MANGE hw negative Lucy will be a very cute girl when her hair comes in, you can see in her face how cute she is. She will need a special family to take her in, she will need someone that has patience and can help her learn to trust people again. RIght now, she is not leash broken, she is pad trained. She will allow petting and touching but gets very stiff. THere has been NO attempt to growl or bite not even at the vets. She will be very rehabitable if someone can take the time to work with her. She will need another kind dog, a small fenced area to go out in. She will need house training, leash breaking. Currently being hand fed, she is very gentle taking food out of your hand. She is learning to eat out of a bowl.. She is currently housed with her friend Ethel, Separation of the two will start in a week or so to encourage independence. Currently housed in Bradenton, if you have experience with hoarding or unsocialized pups and would like to help this lil girl, applications can be found at ewenityfarmsbch.com. We will be getting more pictures soon, it has just been too scary for them.. PUPDATE8/10 Lucy is not coming around as fast as her sister and will most likely be a lap dog. She has to be picked up to come outdoors. Once out she will do her business and go sit in a corner. She is still very timid, but likes to be petted and can be picked up and held in your lap for petting. It seems to soothe her. I would say she also is housetrained and pad trained. She also needs leash work. currently has the lead on and letting it just drag for the tension, so she can get used to it. She will not come up to you to sniff. She likes a small dog bed to lie in. Lucy will also need a home with a fenced yard and a small fenced area for her to potty in not the whole yard. She will need another kind dog also. If you feel like you can help Lucy and are up for a project dog please submit an app for her. She is ready to move on with the right person. I will say no kids here, they will not understand the noise and unpredicatability of kids.. Needs a quiety routine home older adults are good with lots of patience. this poor soul did not ask for these conditions she came from. this is one of those dogs that make you feel good when the progress is made.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
