My story

A little bit punk rock, a whole lot of mystery—Billie Joe is still learning to trust the world, and he’s taking it one quiet step at a time. This sweet, sensitive kitten is very shy around people and tends to hide when there’s movement or noise. While he allows gentle handling and can be picked up, he remains tense during most interactions, even extended ones. He’s never hissy or aggressive—just unsure and trying his best. Billie Joe doesn’t yet seek out affection, but he does show curiosity from a distance. If you sit quietly, he’ll eventually emerge from hiding on his own. Churus are his love language—he’ll eat them right from your lap, though he usually scampers off once the treat is gone. He’s incredibly playful, and feather wands can sometimes coax out his brave side. When the toys come out, so does the real Billie Joe! Interestingly, he’s shown a calm curiosity toward dogs and is comfortable playing around them. He also gets along well with adult cats. He seems to draw a bit of confidence from watching other animals interact, especially his foster friend Halsey. While they aren’t bonded, Billie Joe often waits for Halsey to eat or explore before following suit, making them a sweet potential pair for someone open to adopting two kittens. Billie Joe needs a patient, low-traffic home that can give him the time and space he needs to feel safe. With the right person (and maybe a confident feline role model), we believe this shy boy will slowly blossom into the companion he’s meant to be. Billie Joe is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations. You can meet him at the CASPCA between the hours of 12 and 6 PM daily, no appointment necessary.
