My story

PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Ila! Ila is approximately 1.5 years old, 51 lbs currently and she likely has some Hound in her mix! She is being surrendered because her people travel a lot. In her foster home, she is doing great with house-training, crate training, and leash walking. She could go to a home with kids and other dogs. She has not been exposed to cats. Her foster says, `Illa- is precious. She loves to be loved and give kisses. She melts when she gets kisses and we tell her 1000 times a day she is a good girl. She does her rounds and visits everyone and then finds a quiet place. She loves to teeth on something- She has favorite “babies “ I hope they make it through the journey with her. No a mean bone in her body. I think before is someone hit her with a broom - she is afraid of the broom and mop. We have never yelled or hit her. We rescued her from the pound to teach her manners and potty train her. She is eager to please. Sometimes she gets car sick but honestly- every goal we set for her - she reaches. She is smart. I make eye contact with her often. Softer ears and neck than you can imagine- she IS a good girl. Her crate- she will take a mood when Isay `let’s get in the pen” to walk the other way. I just start giving her a treat for getting in and coming when I call- she responds- only a time or two I have to pick her up and place her. She likes the crate-Our doors are the bar type- she can flip it open. Not a knob though.`She is available for adoption in Westport on August 15th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ila, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
