My story

HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.---- Cuddly and friendly kitty who enjoys sitting in your lap- Likes being petted on her head- When feeling playful likes plush catnip toys and feather wand toys- Loves being brushed and getting chin rubs and ear scratches!- Not a fan of being touched on her belly - Stressed around dogs (happiest with no canines) - Has lived with other catsThis cat came from a situation where they did not get the socialization that house cats typically get from a young age. Because of this, they may be fearful in new situations and when meeting new people, may need help getting used to a carrier, and may never enjoy being picked up and held. Since this cat has lived with other cats, they may benefit from having another cat friend to help them build confidence and show them the ropes.
