My story

Meet Nell! She is a 1 yr old 40lb Black & Tan Coonhound mix that came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/31 as a stray. It didn’t take her long to relax and become comfortable once she was out of her kennel. It appears this beautiful girl with a glossy coat, has been well taken care of. Being a typical hound dog, she spent considerable time exploring the yard with her nose. She is well mannered. She does sit for treats and does take them gently. She’s very alert, bouncy, and friendly. She stays close to her human friend for extra attention. When I sat down she came to me for petting. She walks OK on a leash. She did her business in the yard. She was not interested in meeting other dogs. She would make a great family companion that is familiar with the hound breed. Come spend some time with Nell!
