My story

INTRO This goofball is both handsome and quirky, is there a better combination? Bear’s floppy ears are trying to stand up, and it is the most adorable awkward stage ever. He is sure to entertain you for the rest of his life with his silly personality, and melt you with those big brown eyes. HISTORY Bear is a young pup who is believed to have been dumped, as no owners came forward about him. His estimated date of birth is April 1, 2025. He has been in a foster home with kids and other pets since the end of June. He is vision impaired, confirmed by a veterinarian, and possibly hearing impaired. Bear is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. he is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! But, if necessary, HART will transport a puppy to an approved adopter in the Pacific Northwest. SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Bear currently shares his foster home with two toddlers (2y), and two other dogs. He is very friendly with everyone he meets, including being good with the toddlers. Though he is very friendly, he tends to be reactive to loud noises (sprinklers. Items on wheels, vacuum, etc.), and needs help being confident in living with his impairment(s). Bear is young enough to learn to live well with another friendly, tolerant older dog, but is not fond of cats. He loves water so much that he will try to go as far as eating the water straight out of the source, it’s so fun to watch him chomp away! He also enjoys playing with the other dogs in his foster home, and He is working on basic commands & learning to be confident in his every day life, and he'd love you to take him to school so he can learn ALL the skills he needs to be his best self. He is comfortable in a crate, and potty trained. It's important to remember: Bear is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little guy is just getting started - he has sharp nails and needle teeth, and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as he’s concerned, anything and everything is for play. he still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly-human family. he will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Bear unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise him right! HEALTH STATUS General info Bear is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 60 - 70 lbs range. Bear does have a vision impairment that affects his confidence. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Bear is $425. For more pictures of Bear, see him Facebook album at  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1052851403662615&type=3 To apply to adopt Bear, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.helterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA/Dog, or email HearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form. HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Bear, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
