My story

BUCKBEAK AKA BIG BOY arrived at the shelter after his owner passed away. Unfortunately, he is a return visitor to the shelter. This boy has been through a lot...we'd love to find him his new family ASAP. We've included his previous bio below: BUCKBEAK is silly. He is expressive.  He is excited to be around you, his people, his staff if you will.  BUCKBEAK is about 8 years old boy, found running the streets alone with an EZ walk harness on.  Someone loves this boy, enough to purchase a nice harness and assuming the obvious they did this in order to take him for nice long enjoyable walks. But how can it be no one came to reclaim him?  Beyond my comprehension.  BUCKBEAK'S big head doesn't really match his thin and trim body, almost too thin but not quite at the point yet.  He desperately tried to push his way past me when I was trying to harness him up in the cage which brought on the jumps.  He jumped up and around, wide mouth so I had to be careful.  He was so excited and happy he was going outside.  On our walk, he was interested in everything! He was pulling me ahead not really knowing where to go but anywhere away from the shelter was better.  He went potty as we hit the grass, possibly meaning he is already house trained and used to living indoors.  BUCKBEAK is fun and friendly. His enthusiasm emanated from him as we walked down the sidewalk.  He focused on other dogs as we passed them so it appears he may prefer to be an only dog which doesn't really surprise me as he definitely wanted all my attention.  BUCKBEAK is looking for a home where he can be the only four legger, get all the attention from the humans, and get those daily exercise walks his previous family seemingly planned on.  BUCKBEAK is strong though so be prepared even though he was pretty good on the leash when no other dogs were around.  He is a pleasant boy whom I picture jumping up on the sofa with you to snuggle to watch your weekly indulgence of The Walking Dead, Spongebob Squarepants, or whatever floats your boat.  Currently BUCKBEAK is in a back kennel waiting for a space in adoption. If you don't see him, please just ask to meet him! His id number is 1710-0313. Thank you for considering adoption!   PS No cats, please!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 1, 2025, 6:06 am
