My story

Montana’s Story: From Near Tragedy to a Second Chance In 2015, Montana was adopted from our rescue — a young, beautiful girl full of life and ready to live her best years in a loving home… or so we hoped. Sadly, that’s not how her story unfolded. Recently, her owner brought Montana to a local shelter requesting that she be euthanized — claiming she was “old” and “it was time.” But something didn’t sit right. Thankfully, Montana was microchipped through us, and the shelter staff knew exactly who to call. When they took one look at her, they didn’t see a dog who needed to be euthanized — they saw neglect. Montana had large patches of hair loss, painful sores, was dirty and clearly hadn’t been properly cared for. But through it all, she remained incredibly sweet and trusting. The staff believed — and we agreed — she didn’t need to be put down… she needed to be rescued again. Our adoption contract clearly states that all of our dogs are to be returned to us — no matter what. And we’re so grateful for that microchip, because it saved Montana’s life. Montana is now 11 years and 4 months old. With proper nutrition, medicated baths, and lots of love from our team, she’s already improving. She’s enjoying soft beds, good food, and kind hands — perhaps for the first time in years. Montana deserves to live out her golden years surrounded by love, peace, and the comfort of a true forever home. Her adoption fee will be sponsored, and we are determined to give this beautiful soul the happy ending she should have had all along. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet senior girl who just wants love and comfort, please consider adopting Montana. Let’s give her the life she always deserved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Montana, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
