My story

Watch out, world - here comes Adelaide! Adelaide is about 3 months old and is part of our Outback Litter of Australian Cattle Dog mixes. She is one of the four females and stands out as she has a tricolor patch on her right eye. She is a sweet and smart girl who is looking for an active family that can keep up with her busy mind and body. Adelaide currently weighs about 9lbs, and we estimate she will be around 45lbs when fully grown. Adelaide came to us as part of a litter of puppies that were surrendered by their owners. The owners had two intact dogs, but didn't plan on having a litter of puppies. Mom is getting spayed, so no more puppies for her! The dad is a blue ticked Australian Cattle Dog, and the mom is a tricolor Australian Cattle Dog/terrier mix. The puppies have all been doing great in foster care and are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one training they need. Adelaide is the fearless adventurer of the group. She loves to explore and is a curious girl who is always on the move. She thrives on tasty treats and attention. She loves water and seems like she could be a great buddy to take along to the beach or river. She would love a family who enjoys being outside just as much as she does. Adelaide  is still learning all of her basic manners, so her new family will need to be dedicated to continuing her training and socialization to help her be the best girl she can be. Adelaide has done well with other dogs and could be a great active sibling for a pup who needs a wrestling buddy. She could also do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs. Adelaide has been in a foster home with a cat and could do well in a forever home with dog-savvy cats. Adelaide could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Adelaide is still working on her housetraining, but has been doing great about holding it through the night and pottying outside with frequent trips out. Her new family will need to be patient with her while she is learning and expect to work with her to help her succeed. Adelaide has been doing well being left in a pen while her foster family is away for short periods during the day and overnight. Adelaide is such an amazing little girl, and she can't wait to start her life with her forever family! If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Adelaide's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. July 30, 2025, 8:46 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Adelaide, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
