My story

During his 400+ days at the shelter (yes, 400+ days!!!), Hooper has helped so many dogs.Whenever we welcome a timid, anxious, or unsocialized dog, we know there's a Hooper playdate in their future!Hooper's a dog dog whisperer -- a social superstar! He just has this ability to put other dogs at ease, to show them how to relax and have fun. After a playdate with Hooper, terrified dogs see that the world can be fun! Withdrawn dogs learn to connect! Awkward dogs... well, they're still awkward, but Hooper doesn't judge, he just adapts and makes everyone feel welcome!Hooper has been our happy helper dog for over 400 days, but now he needs YOUR help finding a home of his own. He sure has earned it!Why has Hooper been here so long? He has a bit of stranger danger with humans... and every new friend starts off as a stranger. It may take a minute for Hooper to realize you won't hurt him, but once he does, you couldn't ask for a more loyal, affectionate, playful, intelligent (but still delightfully goofy) pup! Hooper just has this zest for life -- he wants to be where you are, and he'll make everything you do seem awesome! Are you ready for the best nap ever? The best walk ever? The best game of fetch ever? Then you're ready for Hooper!Because of his fear issues, he needs an adult-only home. He'd love another dog (or dogs), though! Please come meet Hooper. No dog should spend years at a shelter.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hooper, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
