My story

When Woozy was hit by a car, everything changed in an instant. He suffered a fractured jaw and a badly broken front leg. In pain and needing urgent care, instead of getting help he was surrendered to a local city shelter by his owner. Injured, confused, and alone, Woozy’s future looked uncertain. That’s when we stepped in to give him the chance he deserved.We rushed him to the vet where his fractured jaw was repaired. His front leg couldn’t be saved, so Woozy underwent amputation surgery. But true to his resilient spirit, he bounced back quickly and now moves around like a champ! Despite everything, Woozy has a zest for life that’s impossible to miss. His recovery is nothing short of inspiring.Woozy is a total lovebug. He adores being near his people and is an expert at cuddling. He showers everyone with kisses and melts hearts wherever he goes. His social nature means he’s friendly and welcoming to everyone he meets. He thrives on affection and never hesitates to ask for attention.Being a three-legged dog hasn’t slowed Woozy down. He gets around with confidence, using a little extra balance and a whole lot of determination. Like most tripod dogs, he’ll benefit from joint supplements and keeping a healthy weight to ease stress on his remaining limbs. We’re also working on getting him a prosthetic to make his adventures even easier, but for now, he’s doing great on his own.Because of his jaw surgery, Woozy needs to avoid hard foods, toys, or chews that could cause damage. Luckily, he’s perfectly happy eating soft food and has no complaints about it at all.After all he’s been through, Woozy wakes up every day ready to love, play, and be a loyal best friend.
