My story

Meet Zero!Zero got his name from the two perfect “O” shapes in the fur pattern on his sides — a unique look for a one-of-a-kind cat. He was found under a pallet in Baton Rouge, and his foster parents knew right away that he deserved a better start. At first, Zero was shy and unsure of his new environment, but with patience and love, he’s really come out of his shell. Now he’s full of energy and curiosity, spending his days exploring and playing in his foster home.Zero currently lives with two resident cats — one of whom is blind — and a small dog, and he’s done very well adjusting to all of them. While it took some time for the more antisocial cat to warm up to him, Zero learned to respect her space and give her time, showing how thoughtful and adaptable he can be.One of his favorite accomplishments? Learning how to leap all the way to the top of a 7-foot cat tree like a pro. He loves having a high-up view and especially enjoys cozy cat beds with raised edges, fabric bowls to curl up in, and any toy with a string or bell. Crinkly fish and jingly balls are a huge hit.Zero is also a great little office assistant. He keeps his foster mom company while she works, offering meows of encouragement and the occasional affectionate lick to keep her on task. He has a sweet and engaging personality, and he thrives in an environment with other animals and people to interact with.Zero would do best in a home with other pets or children to play with. He’s social, curious, and full of love to give — the perfect mix of playful and affectionate.Zero is currently in foster care outside of the shelter.
