My story

Doveland A17670254 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -This sweet girl starts off very nervous and needs time and patience-She’s nervous walking on leash, especially in the halls. Garbage cans and wet floor signs were scary.-Outside she enjoyed exploring the yard coming over occasionally for check-in pets-Inside once she became more comfortable she came and laid down on the blankets with me. After some time she did slightly roll over to give me her belly for pets.-She’s very sweet and she’s really trying hard!-She likes treats, sits and takes them nicely-Curious of toys but not playing yet-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros. -Loud, assertive dogs make he a little nervous. She will need extra time to acclimate to a doggie friend.Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
