My story

Meet Kate ❤️ Kate is a retired Mama Mill Dog who has endured far more than any dog should. Because of her difficult past, her trust in humans is still fragile — she’s often fearful, even around her loving foster family. She’s slowly learning that kindness is real, but patience and understanding will be key in helping her feel safe. Kate eats sparingly right now and is still unsure about walking on a leash, so she’ll need a calm, quiet home to guide her at her own pace. A secure fenced yard is required for her safety, and having a confident, friendly dog in the home is essential — she’ll look to them for comfort and for lessons on how to live a happy, “normal” dog life. She’s not a dog for someone seeking instant companionship, but for the right person, the reward will be watching her transform from a fearful survivor into a cherished family member.
