My story

Maya is the sweetest little long body short legged dog ever. Our vets even say she would make sure for a great therapy dog people for her love her all humans Guessing age is between 2-5 Maya has quite the story - she was found on the streets of Mexico skin and bones and likely hit by a car. She had a broken jaw that has since been fixed and a leg that is getting treated along with tick diseases and Heartworm that is all being treated as well. This girl is so strong as she has fought to stay alive and as our rescue continues to get her all the treatment she needs. She doesnt let any of this hurt her sprits. Medical Notes: - 6/25 had jaw surgery and 21 teeth removed. Her remaining teeth were cleaned and had two follow up appointments since. Dr. says she healed better than expected. She is eating just fine and while her mouth is still a little sensitive she is all healed up. - Getting X rays on her back leg that she isnt putting weight on but it doesnt seem to bother her at all - She is heartworm positive and we are starting her on slow kill method so will need to recheck her in a year to see if it has worked and continue her on meds. This is covered by our rescue Behavioral Notes: - She loves every humans she meets. If she could just be out in public getting pets by everyone and cuddles she would be the happiest girl. - Good with kids - Fully house trained and crate trained - She is lower energy levels but loves playing with toys and going for walks - Good with other dogs, she can be a little reactive at new dogs at first and barky but once she gets to know them shes been great living with other dogs Please note due to all her health issues she is unable to get spayed at this time and that will be your responsibility as she continues to get healthier - once the Heartworms are completed gone. We have put in thousands and thousands of dollars into her care to get her ready for adoption and she will come with 2 free one on one dog training sessions

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maya, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
