Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Doe-eyed girl will melt your heartSUZIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Suzie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (08/03) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name:  Suzie        Best Guess for Breed:  Chihuahua mix   Best Guess for Age:  5 years as of 7/10/2025          SEX:   female   Approximate Weight:  13 lbs.   Gets Along With:  other dogs and has been around kids. We haven't seen her with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!    Special Considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Suzie would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.   Currently Living at: the shelter, Suzie needs a foster and a forever home     Suzie is Looking For:   a home that will make her feel safe, secure, and loved. Suzie thought she already had that until suddenly her owner moved and couldn't take her along. Imagine how scary it must have been for this sweet little girl to suddenly find herself without a home.   Small dogs excel at being companion dogs and Suzie can't wait to find someone to share her heart with. A soft, warm bed and toys to play with will help her adjust to a new home. Small dogs need daily exercise and Suzie will enjoy going on frequent walks in her new neighborhood. She will also need playtime with other dogs, preferably ones her own size. Training will help Suzie understand how to be a very good doggy and strengthen her bond with her new people.   This adorable little nugget is sure to win the hearts of everyone she meets. Chihuahuas thrive on companionship so if you enjoy lap time and cuddles Suzie might be your perfect match. Suzie is headed to the DC area soon so send that application in now!   What My Foster Says About Me:    We will update after Suzie spends some time with a foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
