Yeehaw, Meet Cowgirl! Now don’t let the name fool ya—this little lady isn’t the rootin’-tootin’ type. Cowgirl (or Cowie, as we lovingly call her) is more soft snuggles than saddle rides. She’s a gentle soul with a heart as big as the Texas sky, just a bit shy at first as she figures out this whole “safe and loved” thing.Cowgirl and her sister Whitney came to us after a tough chapter. They were kept outside 24/7 with five other dogs in the sweltering Texas heat. But those days are behind her, and now she's learning all about cozy beds, kind hands, and belly rubs. She lives for cuddles. While she may flinch just a bit when you first reach down, one scoop into your arms and she melts like butter on a biscuit. She wants a person of her very own so badly that she’s stuck to her foster like Velcro!A few things to know about Miss Cowgirl:🍭She’s super sweet and crazy food motivated (snacks are her love language).😾She’s not a fan of cats, thank you very much.🐾She can be a bit protective of her person around other dogs. We think it’s just leftover survival instincts from her rough start. If you’re looking for a dainty little shadow who’ll fill your heart (and lap) with love, Cowgirl just might be your gal.To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cowgirl "Cowie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
