My story

Friday, June 13th was a lucky day for our little Peanut!  A Good Samaritan found him on Fair Lawn Pkwy in Fair Lawn, NJ and brought him to VEG in Paramus. VEG reached out to us while he was en-route to them to see if we could take him before even knowing his condition. Once we received a photo, we knew we had to help. Peanut was only .32kgs or .70lbs. He couldn't see or smell his food due to his severe URI and conjunctivitis. We immediately started him on oral meds and 3 different topical ophthalmic meds.  He had to be syringe fed multiple times a day.  Shortly aftwards, Peanut started going bald.  He must have been carrying ringworm spores on him from wherever he was living, most likely under a shed or porch where fungus grows. It's been a very long road with Peanut.  We had to change up his oral meds twice and add medicated nasal flushes to beat his URI along with treating his ringworm.  His eyes look amazing and his fur has almost all grown back!  He is such a little trooper with a sweet and loving disposition.  He loves to wrestle with other cats and kittens.  Approximate DOB 05/09/25. Up to date with vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative. You must be at least 18 years of age to adopt. If you live in a parent or guardian's home, they must complete the application. An application does not guarantee an adoption. Our cats and kittens are not adopted on a first come, first served basis, but whom we feel would be the best fit for our cats and kittens. If interested, please e-mail us at Chanceatliferescue@gmail.com or download an application from our website http://www.chanceatlifecatrescue.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
