- Lobo was found with severe burns to his eyes, believed to be from acid. His condition has improved immensely, but he is still making progress as he recovers. Unfortunately, he is blind as a result. - He does really well with a routine and consistency. - He’s going to be very scared at first and his adopter needs to understand this and be okay with it. He takes time to trust new people, and you will need to give him space as he adjusts – it may take some time for him to warm up, but once he trusts, everything goes well. - According to his foster, he needs someone who is not afraid of him and will be gentle but firm with boundaries. He does get growly – likely from fear and uncertainty. He is very good at giving cues and letting you know when he is uncomfortable, so he needs someone who can be mindful and read these cues. - He does not have a bite record now, and we would like it to stay that way! - He does not do well with more dominant dogs, but is great with those that are more playful and will let him take the lead. He will try to mount some dogs but can be playful too. - He does try to mark in the house sometimes. - Although his current foster has a young daughter and Lobo has done well with her with supervision, we are very hesitant to place him in a home with any children. - Sometimes he spins – it seems to be a neurological side effect from some of his medical. He has had an MRI and the neurologist is not concerned about it, but it is there. - He eats in his kennel and his foster doesn’t try to take his bowl or disturb him while he is eating. He is also used to a water bowl in his kennel. - He wants to be loved, it just takes him time to trust. - He doesn’t like the window rolled down in the car – it’s too much stimulation because he can’t see. - He needs the most special human to give him a chance – we know he’s a charity case, but he’s been through so much. There has to be someone out there for this guy. Adoption application: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
