My story

Name: Rika Estimated Birthdate: November 2022 Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 14kg (31 lbs) Height (shoulder): 52cm (20.5 in) Rescue Story Rika was rescued in April 2024 from a deserted property filled with trash, where he had been abandoned and left to survive in isolation. ‍‍‍ Social with People Rika is an affectionate and sociable dog who happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, gently leaning in for pets and attention. He’s especially friendly and confident, even with those he’s meeting for the first time, and he does well with children under 13. He tolerates being picked up, though he may step away slightly when approached for a hug—but once in your arms, he stays calm and still. He’s not fond of having his paws touched and will gently pull them away, but he never shows aggression. Social with Dogs Rika tends to be friendly and playful with dogs of a similar size, often enjoying active games and running together. He’s also polite with smaller dogs, though less interested in high-energy play with them. When people are around, Rika is more focused on human interaction than on other dogs. With Cats Rika has shown curiosity toward cats but does not bark, chase, or attempt to corner them. He quietly watches from a distance, showing calm interest rather than prey drive. Energy Level He has a moderate energy level—he enjoys outdoor activities and playtime but knows how to relax calmly afterward. Walking & Leash Manners Rika has experience on a leash and generally follows his handler well. He may pull slightly at times but is not difficult to manage and walks nicely overall. Other Traits • No food aggression toward people or dogs • Waits patiently for treats and doesn’t get upset when others are fed first • Not interested in toys or tug/play games, and does not guard toys • Observes play quietly from beside or behind his person • No signs of separation anxiety or excessive barking • Crate-trained and well-behaved during travel • Outdoor potty trained Rika is a gentle, curious soul with a big heart. He thrives in the company of people and would be a wonderful addition to a home that enjoys peaceful companionship, light outdoor activities, and lots of affection. Send in your application through our website!  You can also check out on our Facebook or Instagram. Currently in Korea | Available for adoption to the U.S. & Canada ##2473442##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rika, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
