My story

A volunteer writes:Diotima is a cute little lady who is with us as her owner passed away. She lived with fourteen other cats and we were told that she was fine with them. Diotoma was a bit nervous when she arrived at the care center, giving a little growl and a little hiss, here and there. She is still a bit skittish, worries that someone might snatch her food, something she is very much in need of(she is quite on the thin side). Diotima is a social kitty but she nevertheless likes a gentle approach and a soft voice. She pops out right away of her bedroom to meet her visitor and very much enjoys petting without ever seeming annoyed. She peeks sometimes in the adjacent kennel and does not appear bothered at all by the other cat looking intensely at her. Diotima has alopecia(hairloss) on her belly and inner legs. This is why for now, she wears a collar and is on a special diet. This condition and its potential causes/management can be discussed with the adoption counselors. Diotima is a sweet gal known to be calm, gentle and affectionate, very much in need of TLC as well as a quiet and loving home. Ask to meet this young and lovely kitty when you visit us at the Manhattan Care Center. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets. Primary Color: Gray Secondary Color: White Weight: 6.7 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diotima, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
