My story

Current Location: White Hall, MD Meet Mattie Mattie is a joyful, affectionate young pup with a constant wag and a heart full of love. Her golden personality shines through every happy wiggle and gentle tail thump. She’s the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being near - and she’s ready to bring that joy to her forever home. Energy & Personality Mattie has beautifully balanced energy. She enjoys playtime, walks, and stimulation, but settles easily and sleeps soundly through the night. She’s calm indoors, happy to explore the yard, and adores meeting new people and pups. She’s confident, curious, and friendly -a true social butterfly. Training & Behavior Mattie is crate trained, housebroken, and walks well on a leash. She already knows basic commands and is both food- and praise-motivated. She learned “sit” in one day and redirects easily. She’s very smart and highly responsive, making her a dream to train. She's shown no destructive behavior and enjoys her toys, especially her beloved Kong treats. Social Life Mattie loves dogs and thrives in their company -she play bows, wiggles with excitement, and is happiest when she has a canine friend to romp with. While she hasn’t been tested with children, her gentle nature suggests she’d do well in most home environments. She’s also done fine with cats. Quirks & Special Traits Mattie gathers toys in her bed, comes running for affection, and politely asks for neck rubs with a wag and a smile. She’s not demanding but clearly loves connection. She’s in the early days of recovery from spay surgery, so she’s currently enjoying short leash walks and relaxing time indoors -but she’ll be ready for yard play again soon. Best Home Fit Mattie needs a securely fenced yard for safe play and would thrive with another playful dog in the home. She’s not a high-energy dog but does need regular engagement and activity to keep her sharp and happy. She’s incredibly well-adjusted and would fit beautifully in nearly any home—first-time dog owners, families, or anyone seeking a turnkey companion will be lucky to have her.
