My story

One-of-a-kind really is the best way to describe Dotty. Of course, there’s her undeniably stunning appearance, but her personality is equally as special. We really can’t say enough good things about our charming, kind foster pup- she is a rare gem. The family/person that is lucky enough to adopt her, very quickly won’t be able to imagine life without her.    Dotty may be the right fit for you if:   You want a dog that is so ridiculously good-natured and friendly with everyone. She is so sweet and trusting. Her tail never stops wagging and she always has her signature “Dotty smile” on You like golden retrievers but wished they came in other fun colors You don’t mind being the “big spoon” (Dotty absolutely LOVES to cuddle and will melt into you. She will cuddle on the couch, she will cuddle at the park, she will cuddle in the car...) You like a dog that appreciates other dogs and you have another dog in the home already. Dotty will do best in a forever home with another equally sweet doggie sibling for company. You don’t mind strangers telling you “Wow! She’s beautiful!” You want a dog that is house-trained, knows to sit for food, and walks nicely on her leash (after her initial excitement of being outside) You appreciate a pup that is very intelligent, quick to learn, and eager to please  You like affectionate cuddly dogs- Dotty’s love language is the 3 S’s: snuggling, snacks, and squeaky toys!   Because Dotty is so social, she would thrive with a family/human(s) that are seeking a faithful companion to join them on life’s adventures. Dotty would love being included in outings, camping, parks, breweries, etc. We want Dotty to find her forever home with humans that will absolutely treasure her and view her a beloved family member.    It’s unfathomable that this sweet, smart, lovely girl found herself just hours away from euthanasia in Roswell, NM due to a lack of space at the shelter. Dotty was meant to spread her infectious joy to the world for longer and we’re so glad she was saved in time. When you meet her, you’ll instantly understand why too.    Some additional notes:  Dotty can climb a fence if left alone unattended outside. She won’t do this if she has dog friends with her, access to come back into the home, or has people outside with her.  Dotty has shown a lot of interest in cats/bunnies/squirrels she sees on walks. Because of her great curiosity toward them, she may be best suited in a home without cats. Dotty does however ignore birds!  She enjoys playing in the water and would have fun at the beach/lake/backyard pool Dotty is food motivated and her favorite treat is whipped cream!  She is huge fan of “sniffaris” and will lay down on the ground to get ‘zoomed in’ on an interesting scent  Dotty has never met a stranger because she thinks everyone wants to be her friend!    Catahoula x Golden Retriever  Spayed Female 2.5 years old Good with humans, kids, other dogs  Up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed.  Adoption Fee $500 www.northwestwagrescue.org ##2430536##
