Please contact Destiny Sibert (DestinyS@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.A Dog Named KittyKITTY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Kitty Best Guess for Breed: Terrier Mix Best Guess for Age: 3 yrs as of July 2025 SEX: female Approximate Weight: 28 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus Special adoption considerations: Kitty is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Kitty is Looking For: Her own family! Kitty was an awesome mama to her babies Earlene, Ellory, Eric, Earnest, and Ezra, and they're all ready to get off to their own homes. And now Kitty is ready to enjoy lots of long walks, long naps on the couch, and quality dog treats. At around three years of age, she's out of her puppy stage, but still has plenty of energy to join you on adventures. She's longing for her perfect family to show her the ropes with all of the joys of living in a home! A comfy bed? Sign her up! Trips to the dog park? Yes please! But more than anything, Kitty just wants a family to show her love. In exchange, she promises snuggles and loyal companionship. What My Foster Says About Me: Kitty needs a foster!
