My story

Meet Wafer! This 3-year-old sweetheart has been through a lot—but you’d never know it by the way he gently wags his tail when he sees you. Wafer was on the run for three long weeks before he was safely brought to the shelter. He arrived thin, covered in ticks, and clearly worn down from life on the streets. But through it all, his gentle and loving spirit never wavered. Wafer is a timid boy, especially in new situations, but give him a little time and he begins to shine. He’s much more confident on leash and finds comfort in calm, patient companionship. In the play yard, he warms up and has even started to get a little playful. He sits nicely, allows all-over handling, and responds beautifully to kindness. This quiet, sensitive soul is also showing positive interest in other dogs. During dog meets, Wafer has been calm, easygoing, and respectful—a good sign he could thrive with a friendly canine companion. Wafer is ready to leave the hard days behind him and start a new chapter filled with love, stability, and gentle affection. Could that be with you?
