My story

Meet Hansel - Your Ready-to-Go Best Friend (aka the &#34Plug &#39n Play&#34 Pup) Looking for a dog who&#39s already house-savvy and full of charm? Meet Hansel--a sweet, happy-go-lucky guy who&#39s ready to slide right into your life like he&#39s always belonged there. Hansel is somewhere between 3 and 5 years old. Old enough to skip the puppy chaos (your shoes are safe!), but young enough to be your adventure buddy for years to come. At around 60 lbs, this Staffordshire Terrier/American Bulldog mix is a medium-sized guy with a fun personality. He spent four weeks in the shelter waiting for rescue after likely being sideswiped by a car. In June, he had an FHO (femoral head osteotomy) surgery to repair his hip--and here&#39s the kicker: even while in pain, Hansel stayed upbeat through it all. Always wagging, always gentle, always eager to please. Now that he&#39s healed, he&#39s thriving in his foster home. Hansel walks beautifully on a leash, knows commands like &#34sit,&#34 &#34down,&#34 &#34wait,&#34 and &#34come,&#34 and is a total gentleman indoors. He&#39s non-destructive, a fan of chew bones (the good kind, not your furniture), and if nothing&#39s happening, he&#39s happy to nap the day away. Fireworks? Thunderstorms? Meh. He&#39s unbothered. People? Loves &#39em. Dogs? Same story. This guy would greet the entire neighborhood if he could. And when you come home? Expect the best &#34happy woof&#34 welcome of your life. Hansel is, in short, the kind of dog you don&#39t have to figure out--he&#39s already figured in. Sweet, steady, and full of love. Meet him today and see for yourself why we call him the &#34plug &#39n play pup.&#34 Hansel is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster homeJuly 23, 2025, 12:37 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hansel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
