*** Ash & Cass are at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***Ash #19438: gray/black/white tabby, medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/15/24 Cass #19446: beige/brown Siamese mix, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 6/15/24 Cats: **BONDED PAIR**, others welcomeDogs: okayChildren: elementary+BACKGROUND: Ash and Cass were found under a car hood as kittens and were taken by a kind man; he later reached out to The Rescue House to ask if we could help them find a loving home. PERSONALITY: Ash and Cass are sweet and playful boys who love attention… and Churu treats!---Ash loves to be petted! Full body pets result in him doing an elevator butt of appreciation with his tail in the air even when he’s lounging in a cozy bed, but his absolute favorite is to get cheek rubs… ohh, yes. He’ll really lean into your hand and the purr will start up. Ash likes when you talk to him; he brightens up and meets your eyes. He appreciates some patience while he gets acclimated to a new place and will find a cozy nook to park himself during that time, but you are still welcome to go to him and interact. ---Cass can’t wait for you to make contact with his shoulders for pets… he lifts them up to meet your approaching hand in a cute-silly shrug! This talkative boy leans in when you’re scritching the side of his face and rubs up against your hand, the couch arm, any kind of corner or edge while his paws make happy biscuits. He is a total love and will greet you with meows, purrs, and head-bonks. He prefers to be held with his front paws draped over your shoulder.---Ash and Cass MUST be adopted together.COMPATIBILITY: Ash and Cass love each other, are also good with other cats, and have met a dog. Their benefactor had grandkids who came to visit so they have had some exposure to children and we think should do well with gentle elementary and up kids who give them some time to adapt to their new home. Will these darling boys become your beloved kitty companions? While healthy, Cass has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cass, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
