Look at this peanut butter Reeses Pieces princess!!!! Meet Talia! She has the best silky chocolate coat flecked in warm tan spots that resemble peanut butter and she’s as sweet and comforting as the treasured childhood treat. She has this serene and mild demeanor that you can’t help but appreciate. She is the kind of girl you want to just spend your days with. She is a no drama princess and is honestly so amazing! We believe that Talia is a husky mix of some sort around 2 years old and weighs approximately 45 pounds. Not too big and not too small, Talia’s that perfect “shmedium” size that fits just right in your home, and your heart. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed are our best guess and cannot be guaranteed. But looking at her she has to have at least a little of that majestic husky breed in her. Check out Talia here: https://youtu.be/dnlkuhGlLgQ Talia carries herself with a calm grace that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the moment with her. She may start off a bit reserved, especially when meeting new dogs, but give her just a little time and space, and her gentle spirit begins to shine. She started off her yard time with one of our calm, submissive males and did great, but the real magic happened when she met Bowie, a medium-energy goofball who brought out the playful side in her. We believe she’d absolutely thrive in a home with a dog like him, one who’s patient and happy to let her blossom at her own pace. When we had the chance to spend some quiet time together, Talia melted into the stillness. As soon as the hustle and bustle faded and the room emptied out, she picked a cozy spot next to a pile of toys and settled in like she’d been there all her life. A new person came in at one point, and Talia greeted her with the softest sniff before returning to her peaceful perch, showing just how gracefully she handles new introductions. Talia is very fond of treats, and once she learns that you’re the keeper of the snacks, you become her favorite person! It’s a sweet, subtle affection, she’ll quietly inch closer, content just to be near you, hoping for one more nibble and maybe a gentle scratch behind the ears. She’s a wonderfully easy girl to bond with and has all the makings of a loyal companion. She’s also shown herself to be incredibly cat-tolerant! During her visit, our house cat Biggie made a few appearances, and Talia didn’t so much as blink! She just let him stroll by like they were old roommates. With a dog-savvy cat, we think she’d do just fine. She hasn’t had experience with kids yet, but based on her temperament, we feel she’d be a great fit for a home with older, respectful children who understand how to approach a soft-hearted girl like her. If there is a certain age you are curious in knowing how she acts around, please let us know and we would be happy to find out for you! We want to make sure she is perfect for your family! She sings the occasional husky song, so apartment life may not be the best fit. But for someone with a yard and a heart ready to love, she’s a dream. On leash, she’s lovely. Easygoing and calm, making her a perfect walking buddy or hiking partner. She doesn’t have the boundless energy of a wild child, but she does enjoy stretching her legs and sniffing around the yard, taking in the world at her own pace. Her foster shared that Talia was nothing short of a dream while out shopping. Lightweight, easy to handle, and incredibly patient. She stuck close by, checking in often and quietly waiting for people to pass before moving forward. Whether riding in the car or getting a bath, she remained calm and respectful. At the store, she even “flirted” her way into a few treats from a kind employee, gently accepting each one like a perfect lady. Talia is the kind of dog who just wants to be loved and gives love in return without ever demanding it. Her temperament is golden, her presence is grounding, and her companionship is something truly special. If you're ready to offer her a quiet place to land and a little room to roam, Talia is ready to meet you right there with gentle eyes, a soft smile, and maybe a little wag of that sweet tail. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
