Current Location: Washington, DC Meet Pearl Pearl is a 2-year-old, 50-pound scruffy sweetheart with a one-of-a-kind coat full of beautiful, unexpected colors. Her expressive eyes and tousled fur tell the story of a resilient dog discovering how wonderful life can be. Once you meet her, it’s hard not to fall in love. Energy and Personality Pearl is gentle, observant, and quietly affectionate. She’s still learning the ropes of home life but has already made incredible progress. She enjoys romping around with her lively foster sibling and especially loves a good wrestling match. Once she feels safe, her playful side blossoms. Training and Behavior Pearl is doing very well with crate training and seems to feel secure in her space. She’s still getting used to walking on a leash and eating kibble, which suggests she may have come from a home where she wasn’t given much attention or structure. Despite that, she’s adjusting beautifully and eager to learn. She hasn’t had any issues with the resident macaw and is curious but respectful. Social Life Pearl enjoys the company of other dogs and plays with enthusiasm. She hasn’t been tested with cats or kids, but she’s shown interest in the household parrot without any signs of aggression. When it comes to meeting new people, she can be shy at first, taking several minutes to warm up. Once she does, she’s friendly and relaxed. Best Home Fit Pearl would thrive in a patient home that allows her the time and space to settle in and gain confidence. She’d do well with another playful dog to help her continue building trust and discovering the joys of being a beloved companion. Veterinary Care - Health certificate from recent vet visit - Up to date on vaccinations - Spayed - Microchipped - On heartworm prevention - Flea and tick prevention - Dewormed
