My story

Current Location: King William, VA Meet Lucie Lucie is a sleek black beauty with a shiny coat and graceful build. At just 28 pounds and 4 years old, she’s a medium-sized dog with the heart and presence of a big dog. Lucie is the perfect mix of fun-loving companion and relaxed housemate. Energy and Personality Lucie is friendly, affectionate, and always up for adventure. She loves racing through the yard, chasing toys, and playing with her dog friends. She’s full of energy when it’s time to move, but can settle down nicely when it’s time to relax. Whether it's hiking a new trail, strolling through your favorite farmers market, or enjoying a quiet evening movie, Lucie is ready to be by your side. Training and Behavior Lucie uses the doggy door confidently and reliably goes outside to potty. If the door is closed, she will use a puppy pad. She’s food motivated and eager for attention, which makes training fun and rewarding. While she isn’t overly vocal, she will bark if other dogs are barking or if something interesting like a squirrel or deer catches her eye. Social Life Lucie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and plays with joyful enthusiasm. She hasn’t been around children in her current foster home, but her friendly nature suggests she would likely do well with respectful kids. She has not been cat tested, but she may chase a cat in play. Best Home Fit Lucie would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and engagement. She’s a great fit for someone who enjoys walks, hikes, patios, and weekend winery visits. At the end of the day, she’s also happy to curl up next to you and unwind.
